Senators 6 – Canadiens 1

The Ottawa Senators stormed over the Canadiens at Scotia Bank Place last night, winning the game in the first 4:45 with three goals from their top line.

Jason Spezza scored the first two and assisted on the third to scare Christobal Huet out of the net. Carey Price came in and did a good job for his team but a combination of a hot Ray Emery and a complete lack of “puck luck” kept the Habs from doing much of anything. They out shot the Sens 36-29 and hit the posts behind Emery four times but only Andrei Kostitsyn was able to get the puck past the Ottawa goalie.

This win gives Ottawa a five point lead over Montreal in the race for first place in the Eastern Conference.
