After suffering a severed Achilles tendon during Sunday’s game and undergoing surgery to repair on Sunday night the Canadiens have confirmed that Robert Lang will miss the rest of the season. As we all know, Lang has been something of a superstar for us this season after being picked up from Chicago over the summer and his skill and presence (and that bright smile every time he nets one) are going to be missed on the ice.
A deeper question here is, given that Lang is 38, will this turn into something of a forced retirement or are we likely to see him again next season? Or, knock on wood, for the playoffs?
All the best to Lang with wishes for the speediest recovery possible, whether he returns or not!
