March 6 – Phoenix Coyotes

The Montreal Canadiens play the second of their four-game west coast road trip tonight against the Phoenix Coyotes before rolling into Los Angeles and Anaheim over the next week. After a tough loss against the Sharks in San Jose and, subsequently an even tighter race for the top of the Eastern Conference, the Habs will look to get back on track against Wayne Gretzky’s team.

The Coyotes currently sit at 10th position in the Western Conference and they’re gunning for a playoff spot, not having achieved that since 2002; Phoenix also has not beaten the Canadiens since a 4-2 victory on December 9, 1998.

Carey Price will likely get the start tonight despite a fairly weak performance agaisnt the Sharks on Monday; he allowed six goals while still making 33 saves.
