The NHL-worst New York Islanders strolled into Montreal last night and took a point away from us in an embarrassing game that saw Les Boys booed off the ice by the Bell Centre crowd following the Islanders goal 26 seconds into overtime on their 38th shot against Carey Price. The play of our tender was the only highlight of the game though I bet he’d like to take that OT goal back. Regardless, Price was solid again in front of a lackluster defence that lost the majority of puck battles.
So the Habs continue their poor play, losing a critical point to the worst team in the league. Bob Gainey is full of excuses but I think the time has come to clean house. By clean house I mean, of course, getting rid of the useless players – Mark Streit reminded Bob last night with a goal and an assist what happens when you allow valuable players to slip away to other teams.
