Flyers 3 – Canadiens 2

Another disapointing loss today for the Montreal Canadiens in Philadelphia as they got off to another lackluster start on all sides and ended up with a 3-2 defeat as the Flyers took a 2-1 lead in the series.

Carey Price, whom I typically try not to criticize too harshly, was awful, allowing three goals on 12 shots in his third awful outing in a row. He may be a young rookie but he’s still a professional hockey player getting paid very well for his role with the team; he needs to shape up his game before it’s too late.

In the meantime the Canadiens shooters were as bad as ever until they decided to pick their game up for the third period when they managed two goals on a five-minute major to the Flyers. That was as far as they got though.

Price was replaced by Jaroslav Halak in the third period and question marks remain as to the question of who start in game four. Halak faced only two shots in the third but did make one dandy save.

GAME NOTES: The Habs did outshoot the Flyers 34-14, leaving hope that, with a bit of extra work on the ice and solid goaltending from Price (or Halak), we’ll be just fine.
