Canadiens 5 – Kings 2

The Habs continued their four-game west coast road trip last night with a visit to the Los Angeles Kings, a team that holds the dubious record of 37 losses this season. Jaraslav Halak got his first start of the season as the teams official number two goaltender.

After a first period that saw the Kings heavily pressuring Halak with him stopping everything in sight, Patrice Brisebois finally opened scoring early in the second as he put a slap shot off of the ankle of Anze Kopitar to give Montreal a 1-0 lead. Andre Kostitsyn, Guillaume Latendresse and Saku Koivu added goals for the Canadiens before Tom Koustopolus managed an empty netter late in the third period to seal the game 5-2 for Montreal. Halak made a very impressive 35 saves.
