Canadiens 4 – Devils 0

Carey Price made 38 saves and the Habs got goals from Brian Smolinski, Saku Koivu, Maxim Lapierre and Michael Ryder as they took down Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils 4-0 to take back first place in the Eastern Conference.

The win gave the Canadiens the upper hand in their season series with the Devils, the first time that has happened since the 1993-93 season – the last season that Montreal took the Cup home. The shutout was the second of the season for Price and he is a solid 5-2 since taking over the number one spot with Cristobal Huet being traded to the Washington Capitals.

The Habs play host to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday as they continue their battle for first place in not only the Northeast Division but the entire Eastern Conference.
