Canadiens 3 – Senators 0

The Habs hadn’t won a division title since the 1991-92 season rolling into Ottawa last night to take on the Senators and they needed only a single point to do it. Well, welcome to the future: not only have the Canadiens sealed first place in the Northeast Divison, they are also tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with Pittsburgh.

Carey Price was super solid with 32 saves and he got goals from Alex Kovalev, Andrei Kostitsyn and Mathieu Dandenault to record his third NHL shutout. The Senators have now been flung to 6th place in the East with a real risk of actually missing the playoffs.

NOTE: Pittsburgh takes on Philadelphia on Wednesday so cross your fingers for a Philly victory!
