Brodeur Ties Roy’s Win Record

Martin BrodeurMartin Brodeur lead the New Jersey Devils to a 3-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night to tie the goaltender win record of 551 set by former Hab Patrick Roy. Despite his long tenure with the Devils Brodeur is from Montreal and has always been well-loved by the fans there, receiving a minutes-long standing ovation following the game.

Patrick Roy was in attendance and offered his congratulations to Brodeur both before and after the game. Win 552 and a brand new NHL record can come as early as Tuesday night when New Jersey faces Chicago at home.
